Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam, former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the National Economics University, Arbitrator at the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC), and Mediator at the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC), has been awarded the title of “Meritorious Teacher” pursuant to Decision No. 1582/QD-CTN by President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on December 25th, 2023.
On the morning of November 17th, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Vietnam Education Trade Union held the ceremony to award the titles of People’s Teacher and Meritorious Teacher for the 10th time 16 and to honor outstanding teachers and managers of the year 2024. In 2024, the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has granted the title of People’s Teacher to 21 teachers and the title of Meritorious Teacher to 1,167 teachers. Among them, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam, former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the National Economics University (now the Faculty of Law, College of Economics and Public Management, National Economics University), Arbitrator at the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC), and Mediator at the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC), was honored with the title of "Meritorious Teacher".

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam is a legal expert with 35 years of experience in international business law, intellectual property law, e-commerce law, and dispute resolution. From 2014 to 2024, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the National Economics University. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to teaching, scientific research, and dispute resolution. He has also been actively involved in consulting and has participated as an expert and speaker at scientific forums both domestically and internationally, focusing on business law, international trade, and intellectual property.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam has served as an Arbitrator at the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) since 2002. He has chaired and participated in numerous arbitral tribunals resolving commercial disputes both domestically and internationally. Additionally, he is a mediator recognized by the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and has been a mediator at the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC) – a division of VIAC, since 2019. Recently, he became a member (MCIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and joined the list of neutral arbitrators and mediators of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
With his extensive expertise and significant contributions to legal education and dispute resolution in Vietnam and the broader region, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam was awarded the title of "Meritorious Teacher" pursuant to Decision No. 1582/QĐ-CTN by the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on December 25, 2023.
