[VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024] SECTION B - Vietnam businesses reaching out to global arena in current economic uncertainty

The global economy is currently undergoing an unprecedented period of volatility, posing numerous challenges for businesses conducting cross-border investment and business activities. According to the United Nations' World Economic Situation and Prospects 2024 report, the near-term economic outlook is only cautiously optimistic as economic vulnerabilities remain, amid persistently high interest rates, continuing geopolitical tensions, and increasing climate risks. These factors pose significant challenges for businesses in formulating strategies to enter the international market. Nevertheless, the trend of shifting, diversifying the supply chains, and increasing consumer demands are opening doors for Vietnamese businesses to expand into the international market. To capture these opportunities, businesses have to be well-prepared legally, as well as have flexible strategies and the ability to adapt quickly to market changes.

Within the framework of VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024 which its theme focuses on “Cross-border Trade & Investment in times of Economic uncertainty: Disputes & Arbitration”, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) is delighted to introduce a key section titled "Vietnam businesses reaching out to global arena in current economic uncertainty". This section will serve as a platform for businesses and experts to engage in discussions regarding the risks associated with exporting goods and investing overseas, while also proposing solutions to help Vietnamese enterprises overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and thrive in the international market.

VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024 | CROSS-BORDER TRADE & INVESTMENT IN TIMES OF ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY: DISPUTES & ARBITRATION

With the aims to create a forum that sets its primary focus on investors and enterprises, to address their concerns reaching out to foreign market as well as  promoting the use of arbitration as a method of dispute resolution, and facilitate cross-border trade and investment, Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), with technical assistant from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), organizes VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024. VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024 is themed: “Cross-border trade and investment in times of economic uncertainty: Dispute and Arbitration” to examine current economic fluctuations and discuss appropriate measures to overcome such obstacles.
