On March 3, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Nghia officially became the new Vice President of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Nghia has worked at VIAC as an Arbitrator since 2002 and has made numerous active contributions to the development of VIAC. Currently, alongside his role as Vice President of VIAC, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Nghia also holds the positions of Chairman of the VIAC Science Council and Director of the Vietnam Institute for Arbitration Research and Training (VIART)
He earned his Bachelor's and Doctorate degrees in Law from Leipzig University (Federal Republic of Germany, 1991), specializing in business law. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard Law School (2002–2003) and a Researcher at Stanford University (1998).
In addition to his arbitration work, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Nghia is a leading scholar in law and public governance in Vietnam. He previously served as Head of the Business Law Department at the Faculty of Law (now the University of Law), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (1996–2009); Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (2011–2017); and Director of the Public Policy Program at Fulbright University Vietnam (2018–2025).
