Seminar on International Arbitration: Facilitating China & Vietnam Trade and Investment

Geographic proximity has always been a keystone of the strategic economic partnership between Vietnam and China. In 2023, trade between the two countries reached 171.85 billion USD, of which Vietnam's exports were 61.21 billion USD, an increase of 5.6% compared to 2022 (“Exports and Imports Value by Months Of 2023”, Feb 26^th 2024). As both economies are blooming, there has been a corresponding increase in the volume and complexity of trade & investment relations between the two countries.  To foster a healthy environment for trade and investment, arbitration is increasingly prevalent among businesses as a means of ensuring contract enforcement.

Against this backdrop, Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) hold the Seminar on “International Arbitration: Facilitating China & Vietnam Trade and Investment”. The seminar will provide the context of the trade and investment flows between China and Vietnam, impacts of international arbitration on investment and cross-border trade between the two countries, and sharing from CIETAC and VIAC regarding these matters.

在此背景下，越南国际仲裁中心 (VIAC)与中国国际经济贸易仲裁委员会（CIETAC）举办“国际仲裁研讨会: 为中越贸易和投资提供了极大便利”。 研讨会将介绍中国和越南之间的贸易和投资流动的背景、国际仲裁对两国投资和跨境贸易的影响，以及CIETAC和VIAC对于相关这些问题的分享。
