VIAC holds the 2026 Arbitrators and Mediators Meeting in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

On March 21 and March 28, 2026, Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) successfully organized the 2026 Meeting with Arbitrators and Mediators in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The program was held to provide an opportunity for VIAC's arbitrators and mediators to meet, network, and exchange professional experiences, while also presenting the 2025 Annual Activity Report, highlighting the Centre's key achievements, developments, and contributions over the past year.

During the meeting, VIAC presented its 2025 Annual Activity Report to its arbitrators and mediators, highlighting significant growth in both commercial dispute resolution through arbitration and mediation, as well as in its promotional, outreach, and training activities.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Le Hong Hanh - President of VIAC, shared the Centre's strategic development direction and key priorities for the coming years. According to him, as the global economy continues to evolve rapidly under the influence of digital transformation, supply chain restructuring, and the growing emphasis on sustainable development, commercial activities have become increasingly diverse and complex, leading to the emergence of new types of disputes.

Against this backdrop, arbitration and mediation are expected to further strengthen their role as flexible and effective dispute resolution mechanisms, supporting businesses while complementing the court system in resolving disputes within the modern economy.

The arbitrators and mediators attending the gathering expressed their appreciation for and congratulations on VIAC's positive achievements in 2025, particularly the growth in both number and quality of cases handled, as well as the Centre's steadily strengthening reputation within the business community.

Participants also put forward a number of constructive recommendations, focusing on further improving the arbitration rules and the draft Law on Commercial Arbitration to support the continued expansion of VIAC's operations and the broader development of arbitration in Vietnam. Additional proposals included enhancing the quality of arbitrators and mediators, accelerating the adoption of technology in dispute resolution, and strengthening training programs and international cooperation. These recommendations are expected to further improve the effectiveness and competitiveness of arbitration and mediation services at VIAC in the years ahead.
