Since 2017, the Vietnam Moot Court Competition - National Round (VMOOT) organized by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law has become a highly anticipated annual academic event. It provides law students with the opportunity to engage in moot hearings as real lawyers, defending the legal rights of parties before a moot arbitral tribunal. After seven years of development, VMoot 2024 returns successfully, attracting over 50 competing teams from more than 30 law schools and legal training institutions across the country. With the support of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) as the expertise supporter, VMoot has solidified its position as a prestigious academic platform, offering law students a valuable opportunity to hone litigation skills and apply legal knowledge in practice.
VMoot 2024 marks the eighth year of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) providing the expertise support for the competition. This year, the competition introduces significant changes, providing a more realistic simulation of dispute scenarios, which not only allows students to refine their litigation skills more comprehensively but also reflects the practical demands of the legal industry today. Specifically, the competition focuses on the construction sector, requiring teams to prepare submissions, including a request for arbitration, a statement of defence, a counterclaim, and a statement of defence for the counterclaim.
