Construction disputes are among the most complex forms of commercial disputes, often involving multiple parties, interconnected contracts, highly technical issues, and extensive documentary evidence. As construction projects continue to increase in scale and sophistication, arbitration has become the preferred dispute resolution mechanism for many industry participants due to its flexibility, confidentiality, and ability to accommodate specialized expertise. At the same time, the effective resolution of construction disputes requires lawyers, arbitrators, and experts to navigate unique procedural challenges, from tribunal constitution and document management to expert evidence and complex multi-party proceedings.
As part of VIAC’s Arbitration Series – VAS Crossover 2026, the first webinar on “Specialised Arbitration in Focus – Topic 01: Construction Arbitration” will explore key procedural and practical issues arising in construction disputes, drawing on both international best practices and domestic experience. The webinar will discuss key developments in construction arbitration, including the new VIAC Rules of Arbitration 2026, particularly provisions on joinder and consolidation, evidence and document management, the use of experts; and recent updates under Vietnam’s Construction Law 2025. Combining legal analysis with practical perspectives, the session aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape of construction arbitration and the tools available for resolving increasingly complex construction disputes.
