[IMPORTANT]: VIAC’S OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION ON INACCURATE AND INAPPROPRIATE INFORMATION

On 27th of June 2024, VIAC received a few reports on email users receiving an email with the title “Thông báo quan trọng: Để nâng cao tính bảo mật, dịch vụ ApplePay tạm thời bị đình chỉ” (in English: “Important notice: To enhance privacy, ApplePay services are temporarily suspended”). Upon conducting a thorough inspection of our email system, VIAC hereby officially notifies that an unidentified party has perpetrated a cyberattack and impersonated VIAC to send you the email that contained inaccurate information, which VIAC has no deliberate intention of sending.

VIAC sincerely apologizes for this inconvenience and would like to give you a proper warning along with some guidance on some recommendations based on guidance from Google – the provider of the Email server service:  

1. Please do not click on any buttons/links in the email with the title “Thông báo quan trọng: Để nâng cao tính bảo mật, dịch vụ ApplePay tạm thời bị đình chỉ” (in English: “Important notice: To enhance privacy, ApplePay services are temporarily suspended”) that you received from VIAC, as these links have not been verified and may pose a security risk.
2. In case you have clicked on the buttons/links, please do not provide any private information or passwords to mitigate any potential risks that may arise. We also recommend that you change your email password as a precautionary measure in this situation.

VIAC is currently working with Google Vietnam to identify the cause of this incident. We are going to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause and do our best to prevent similar incidents in the future.

VIAC profoundly acknowledges that potential risks in the digital environment are unavoidable and require significant efforts to manage and prevent. Once again, we sincerely apologize and hope for your understanding.
