[VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024] SECTION B - Vietnam businesses reaching out to global arena in current economic uncertainty

Within the framework of VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024 which its theme focuses on “ Cross-border Trade & Investment in times of Economic uncertainty: Disputes & Arbitration ”, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) is delighted to introduce a key section titled " Vietnam businesses reaching out to global arena in current economic uncertainty ". This section will serve as a platform for businesses and experts to engage in discussions regarding the risks associated with exporting goods and investing overseas, while also proposing solutions to help Vietnamese enterprises overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and thrive in the international market.

[VIAC SYMPOSIUM 2024] SECTION A - Launching Ceremony of VIAC Online Case Management Platform

With tireless efforts and technical support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), VIAC has developed the Online Case Management Platform – a platform with many improvements aiming at making the arbitration proceeding more convenient and flexible, saving time and costs for the parties while enhancing the efficiency of arbitration as a method promoting cross-border trade and investment activities. In addition, by providing an online arbitration procedure alongside the traditional method, VIAC commits to green and sustainable development campaigns, reducing the carbon footprint on the environment through minimizing paper usage during dispute resolution; thereby contributing to forest protection, reducing paper waste, and limiting the impact of greenhouse gas emissions.

Legal Management Series - LMS is an annual event series initated and implemented by VIAC and our partners, with the aim of updating, providing information on regulations related to matters which are widely discussed among businesses during their operation.

Seminar on International Arbitration: Facilitating China & Vietnam Trade and Investment

Geographic proximity has always been a keystone of the strategic economic partnership between Vietnam and China. In 2023, trade between the two countries reached 171.85 billion USD, of which Vietnam's exports were 61.21 billion USD, an increase of 5.6% compared to 2022.

Arbitration symposium on "Completing the third parties’ mechanisms for facilitating the arbitral proceedings"

With the increasing appearance in arbitration disputes, third parties and situations related to this subject have been receiving considerable attention recently. Through research and practical experience, numerous contributions regarding the addition and improvement of mechanisms for third parties have been made, especially as the Law on Commercial Arbitration 2010 is in the process of being amended. Grasping this importance, within the framework of the 2024 Arbitration – Mediation Forum (AMS 2024), the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) has sequentially collaborated with several universities training in Law in HCMC: Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (ULAW), School of Law, College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG-UEH), University of Economics and Law, VNU - HCM (UEL) to organize 03 Workshop on Fridays weekly, starting from 22/03/2024. With the goal of providing a comprehensive synthesis of all information and opening a platform for exchange and discussion among reputable experts with specialized and long-standing experience in the field of arbitration, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (ULAW) organizes the Discussion Forum on "Completing the third parties’ mechanisms for facilitating the arbitral proceedings". This is the key event that closes up the AMS 2024 "Third parties and influences on arbitral proceedings".
