Vietnam CISG Pre-Moot 2025: ATOMORA

From December 2024 to March 2025, the Vietnam CISG Pre-Moot 2025 will be co-organized by the Foreign Trade University and the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC). The competition will be conducted in English and is open to undergraduates from domestic and international educational institutions.  

Vietnam CISG Pre-Moot is the first arbitration moot court competition in Vietnam that revolved around the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The Convention is widely regarded as a groundbreaking treaty in the field of international trade, acting as a precursor for innovations in national laws governing the sale of goods contracts. After six successful seasons, Vietnam CISG Pre-Moot 2025: Atomora officially kicks off, co-organized by the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and the Foreign Trade University (FTU). 

With the rapid development of clean energy technology and the shift towards a green economy, disputes related to hydrogen plants are becoming an urgent issue in international trade. This year's competition will present a complex dispute scenario in the energy sector, where legal issues surrounding the termination of contracts for the construction and operation of hydrogen energy plants will be analyzed and resolved based on the principles of the CISG. 

The Pandora's box—a symbol for the fusion of science and nature—will inspire teams to develop creative, groundbreaking arguments while adhering to international legal standards. "Hydrogen" has been chosen as the central symbol due to its crucial role as a potential energy source for the future. This clean energy could lead humanity to a sustainable future, but its development and application also come with numerous challenges, including legal disputes, technological barriers, and safety concerns. 

As the competition expands its reach beyond Vietnam to the international stage, the Vietnam CISG Pre-Moot 2025 is expected to become a global platform attracting numerous promising candidates from both domestic and international backgrounds who are ready for challenges with their legal knowledge, a passion for law and curiosity. The Competition is open for registration from December 10, 2024 to 11:59 PM on December 30, 2024. Teams can register at https://bit.ly/CISGPreMoot25 and pay the registration fee according to the instructions below: 

Registration fee: $50 USD (in words: fifty US dollars) or 1,000,000 VND (in words: one million Vietnamese dong) per team.
