Law on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) investment was passed by the National Assembly and took effect from 1st January 2021 with the expectation of new progress in attracting investment from the private sector through public-private cooperation to implement projects on socio-economic infrastructure development and public services provision. Accordingly, the approach of public-private partnership in the field of transport infrastructure under the Build - Operate - Transfer (BOT) model has been widely launched in Vietnam and has, in fact, contributed to promoting the development of transport infrastructure in Vietnam.
With the view of opening a forum to share and discuss difficult issues in the process of developing and operating the expressway projects under the BOT model; thereby, reviewing and developing reports as well as proposing amendments to a number of public-private partnership contract models, including the BOT model, Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) in collaboration with Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized the seminar:
